Mr. Bouniol, from Thales Avionics, presented in the Annual EGNOS workshop the status of the EDG²E project (Equipment for Dual frequency Galileo GPS and EGNOS), its achievements and the next steps. In terms of status, phase 1 of the project, which dealt with the definition of the HW architecture and support for the standardisation activities, has concluded. The project contribution to the ED-259 (Initial version of the SBAS DFMC GPS GALILEO MOPS), published by EUROCAE in February 2019, will be highlighted. The next phase of the project will focus on the development of a SBAS DFMC receiver prototype, which will then be evaluated in flight, in parallel to the continuous contribution to the ongoing standardisation activities.
