About ESSP

The core activity of the European Satellite Services Provider (ESSP) is the operation and service provision of EGNOS, the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay System. The EGNOS Service Provision contract is funded by the European Union and managed through the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) Agency (Now EUSPA). In 2013, ESSP was awarded a contract by EUSPA to act as the single EGNOS Service Provider from 2014 until the end of 2021, with a clear mandate to help foster the use of satellite navigation within Europe, particularly in the domain of aviation.
